Shortly after the war Daimler introduced the DE and DH27 models. Carrying most of their pre-war features with them, including the pre-selector gearbox, they incorporated modern independent front suspension and a new 4095cc six cylinder engine with a detachable head - a first for Daimler. The model was to remain in production alongside its even bigger brother the DE36, a straight-8 of quite gargantuan proportions, until 1951.
Coming from a deceased estate, nothing is known of the history of this example. One rear wing has been removed to replace the ash in the wheelarch, the wing being found alongside the car in the barn where it was stored.
The interior is remarkably good, the division working perfectly and the leather in eminently restorable condition. The bonnet latch is currently stuck and so other than confirming that the engine is in place, nothing further is known about the mechanical condition of the vehicle. Offered as spares or for restoration, bidders are advised that there is no paperwork with this vehicle.
