One of several 129-Series Mercedes-Benz SL Roadsters in our sale today, this car has the mighty all-alloy 5-litre V8 with 326bhp and 332lb/ft of torque. Good for a top speed of 155mph and capable of sprinting to 60mph 6.3 seconds it was also a paragon of refinement and could average 24mph if driven sensibly.

Dating from August 1993 the car has covered some 92,000 miles from new in the hands of 8 owners to date. Looking very appealing in mid-blue metallic with a cream hide interior, it rides on 18” AMG Monobloc split-rim alloy wheels and has the desirable rear seat option plus air conditioning and an electrically adjustable steering column.

Both hard and soft tops are supplied for year-round motoring. Unfortunately there is very little service history with the car but the vendor states that “it presents very well and drives superbly.” Freshly serviced prior to the sale when two new tyres were also fitted, it is taxed until October and MOTd until February 2014.

With summer just around the corner, this fast and hugely capable Roadster looks absurdly good value at the modest guide price suggested. We can’t see them staying at this level for much longer…
