The handy little Raleigh Wisp was yours for just 69 guineas in 1968, so says the 16-page sales brochure that accompanies this super little time-warp machine.
If you weren’t convinced of the brilliance of the Wisp after reading it you really weren’t going to buy one. The ‘fun loving fabulous Wisp’ cruised at 20mph covering 150 miles to a gallon of two-stroke while carrying a 13-stone man up a 1:9 gradient. It goes on…and on and on extolling the virtues of this compact moped. Good as it was, it didn’t take the world by storm, being too closely related to the Raleigh RSW bicycle to be cool enough for youngsters to choose, although now of course it must be about the trendiest thing on two-wheels.
Dating from 1968, this nicely presented machine has a current MOT which expires in January 2015 and also includes the original owners guide alongside the sales brochure.
