Looking very much like an oversized Morris Minor, the Oxford MO was launched in 1948 and remained in production until 1954.

That’s about where the similarity between a standard MO and this remarkable creation starts and finishes. Produced specifically for use in the BAFTA-nominated 1997 film The Borrowers, it was used by the baddie, Ocious P Potter (played by John Goodman), who tries to cheat the Lender family out of their house by stealing their aunt\'s will, unaware that another miniature family (the Borrowers) also live in the house (unknown to the Lenders - are you following all this?!). Filmed in the small town of Theale near Reading, the film crew painted the whole High Street green for the film, everyone driving Morris 1000s, apart from Potter who had this stretch-limo Morris Oxford.

Professionally restored and stretched by Sidney Jackson and Sons of Macclesfield in 2004 at a cost of over £20,000, it is now powered by a 2-litre Ford Pinto engine and has been beautifully appointed inside which is not usually the case with cars dolled up for film work. The quality conversion included green leather seats which are fitted both front and rear, whilst exterior brightwork has been painted gold, no doubt to highlight Potter\'s greedy and criminal antics.

Offering a great deal of potential to earn its keep, its new owner may not necessarily be an avaricious conman with a murderous dislike of midgets, he may simply be a Morris enthusiast with a large family - who knows? We have been asked to advise the successful bidder that they must be prepared for the crowd of admirers that gather around the vehicle wherever it goes.
