One of the truly remarkable things about the MGB is their phenomenal survival rate. Made in significant numbers for very nearly 20 years, over 500,000 found homes before production final ceased in 1980.
One of the overriding reasons for their continued popularity, apart from their good looks and strong performance is the fantastic supply of spare parts. A large number of specialists can supply quite literally any component, with a range of upgrades available too including engines up to 250bhp!
This overdrive equipped 48,000 mile example has remained pretty much in standard trim, with the exception of a brake servo installed to reduce pedal pressure. It is unusual in not having had a Webasto sunroof fitted, a nice period modification maybe, but one which these days offends the MG purist!
Recently fitted with new tyres and brake pipes, it has been retrimmed in blue PVC with white piping and fitted with a stainless exhaust. Recently serviced by MG Classics, its history file contains most MOTs confirming its mileage, the current ticket expiring in August 2015 along with its road tax.
Clearly the subject of some restoration work in the past, this very smart example has good panel fit and is ready to go.
