Introduced in 1965, the Pininfarina styled MGB GT 2+2 was based on the convertible, using a taller windscreen and new roof line.

By 1974 the company had reacted to new US parking regulations by introducing rubber bumpers, raising the car in the process to meet changes to the lighting regulations. This US spec became standard across all markets, continuing up until the final car left the factory in 1980. Their reliability, performance and excellent handling mean that there is no reason why MGBs cannot be used every day.

This well cared for, overdrive equipped 1978 model was purchased by the vendor in 2002 and used only in the summer months. A veteran of numerous MGOC rallies, including trips to Ireland, France and the Isle of Wight, it is only being offered for sale due to ill health.

Fitted with a Webasto sunroof, it is reported to run and drive well, although has seen little use over the last six months or so. The last job to be done on the car was the re-foaming of the seats. Taxed until the end of September 2014 and MOTd until next April, there is a good history file which includes bills and 21 old MOTs.

These late model MGBs offer exceptional value at the moment, a situation which we feel can't last for much longer.
