Launched in 1974 as the GL1000, the Honda Goldwing featured a flat-four water-cooled 999cc engine that produced 82bhp and was good for a top speed in excess of 120mph. It quickly proved to be a highly reliable and comfortable machine that was capable of covering vast distances with the minimum of fuss. Now one of the most legendary names in motorcycle history, the Goldwing is still being produced to this day.
Dating from 1977, this matching numbers UK-supplied machine has covered some 53,000 miles from new. Purchased through us in 2011, it has added just 50 miles or so to that total and has been parked up since. Said to ride beautifully and to be in very good condition all round after a previous refurbishment that cost over £2,800, it will require some light recommissiong before use.
These classic Hondas are great looking machines that are still easily capable of daily use and prices have been rising steadily in recent times. This well-cared for example looks like a shrewd buy at the guide price suggested today.
