The Yamaha XT225 (or Serow in some markets) was produced from 1986 to 2007, being superseded by the XT250.
It featured a 223cc SOHC air-cooled single cylinder engine that produced 15Kw of power and 19Nm of torque. This power coupled with its light weight made it a very popular mount for dual purpose riding and a very competent trail bike, both for long distance trials and the recreational rider who just wanted the odd foray onto the brown stuff.
Being offered here from a deceased estate, this machine was used by its late owner in both of the above mentioned disciplines. The owner being a very competent trail , trial and enduro rider in his younger days, he acquired this machine in 2012. Due to failing health it has had a relatively easy latter life.
When photographed it started on the electric start and ran well, a short trip around the garden showed everything to be in fair order and to be working. This machine comes with V5C, expired MOTs, Sorn documents, bill of sale and some maintenance bills as well as a handlebar-mounted route map roller.
AMENDMENT: This bike was first UK registered in 2002 but is declared manufactured in 1995.
