The Aristocat is just one of a variety of machines available from race-prep experts Autotune Ltd. based in Rishton, Lancashire.

Offering comprehensive kits enabling the talented home-engineer to build replicas of a 1960s Elva, a monstrous Can-Am McLaren or an iconic Jaguar XK120, they have built an International reputation for supplying a high quality, well developed product.

The Aristocat was launched in 1983 and uses a Jaguar XJ6 donor vehicle. The engine and box are used in an Autotune supplied spaceframe which also accepts the standard Jaguar suspension and steering. The end result is a considerably wider car than the original XK120 upon which it is styled, making it much more comfortable for genuine 6-footers as well as having a larger boot.

This well finished car was completed in 1989, bills on file showing that many new parts were incorporated into the build. Based on a 1979 XJ6 4.2-litre auto, it is described as running and driving well and comes with rudimentary weather equipment.

MOTd until September 2015, it offers access to XK looks without the expense, in an easy to use, reliable and comfortable package.
