Launched with the slogan ‘Lambrettability’, the popular Italian-built scooter was skilfully marketed as a fresh and glamourous alternative to the rather humdrum offerings from the home-grown suppliers.
Sold new in the UK in 1959, this range-topping Lambretta Li 150 series 2 has covered 25699 miles in the hands of its eight former keepers.
It was given a full restoration in 1999, including a full bare metal respray and an engine rebuild which included a 190cc Suzuki piston, cylinder head and barrel which has given a welcome hike in power and Japanese reliability. Since then it has been cossetted, having spent most of its time living in its owner’s front room!
The vendor reports that it rides really well and although exempt from such things, has just passed an MOT which expires in February 2016. It carries the registration number NFO 908.
