In 1974 MG reacted to the new US regulations by introducing an updated car with rubber bumpers and a raised ride height - a pragmatic solution to the newly introduced minimum light height requirements.

This US spec car became standard across all markets, continuing until the final ‘B’ was produced in 1980. Their reliability, performance and excellent handling mean that there is no reason why they cannot be used every day.

This 1978 rubber bumper Roadster has recently been comprehensively rebuilt, based on an excellent bodyshell which has remained largely untouched since new, the vendor describing the panel fit as good with very little sign of any previous work with a welder.

The engine and gearbox were found to be in good, sound condition with any ancilliary parts being replaced as necessary. New seat covers and fresh paint ensure that this late model MGB presents very nicely and with a fresh MOT and sensible guide price it is ready for some serious hood-down summer motoring.
