This is one of two Replicar Cursor models in the sale today – for background to the model please see the preceding Lot 8.
First registered in October 1985, this Cursor joined the Stondon Collection in October 1997 and had just one owner before that, a lady based in Canterbury, Kent. It comes with an old MOT from July 1994 which records that it had only covered 1,288 miles at that date, a figure which has not changed much as it has been on static display at Stondon these past 18 years.
It comes with an interesting history file which contains a wealth of original marketing material relating to the model including sales brochures, specification sheets, an original owner’s handbook plus a couple of receipts for routine servicing. There is also a document showing that it was entered into a concours event at the Bath Microcar Rally in June 1991 where it is stated to be: “Number 25 of believed only 44 made. As is only 49cc can be driven by 16 year old. Has been converted to hardtop roof”. The mileage at this point was stated to be 1,286 and only five miles have been added since that date.
Probably as good an example as you could reasonably hope to find, this ultra-low-mileage Cursor is sure to be of interest to any micro car collector.
