Spanish manufacturer Bultaco produced their first off-road model, the Sherpa N (developed from the Tralla 101 road model) in 1960, but under the strict rule of Franco none of these made their way out of the country.

However, when Sammy Miller rode in the 1963 ISDT in Czechoslovakia, he had a secret meeting with Bultaco boss, Don Paco Bulto, and they agreed on the development of a new lightweight machine to replace the ageing but legendary Ariel GOV132.

Miller was invited over to Barcelona to assist in development and the first prototype machine was ready by the autumn of 1964. In November of that year, Miller signed on the dotted line for Bultaco and, with that simple stroke of a pen, effectively put the final nail in the coffin of the British-made trials machine. It is only because of his actions on that day that we now have pre-65 competitions to rule out these Spanish machines, such was their impact on the trials scene for the older less competitive British made machines.

Times have moved on and the twin shock class has now been established to allow use of machines made up until 1984 and featuring twin rear shock absorber springing to be once again used competitively and to compete against the similar offerings from Montesa, Ossa, Yamaha, Fantic etc that are not eligible for the pre-65 events.

Dating from 1976, this matching frame and engine numbers T 350 Trials has spent its last 20-odd years in a museum and will require re-commissioning after it's period of inactivity. All brakes and suspension seem to operate correctly and the motor turns over with good compression ,although no attempt has been made to start it. There are brackets and a pillion footrest on the left of the bike which suggests it has had a sidecar attached to it for sidecar trials. All parts appear to be in good sound condition and subject to time spent returning it to running order, it should soon be got ready for twin shock trials events.
