Edward Turner’s pretty little Tiger Cub was launched to the public at the Earls Court Show in 1953. Its 199cc dry sump engine was a 4 stroke, making it unusual amongst its Villiers and BSA 2 stroke powered competition.
Utilising the frame and forks from the earlier Terrier model, it gained a much needed rear swing-arm in 1957, continuing in production until the arrival of the Super Cub, a BSA Bantam derived machine in 1966 which survived for just two years before being replaced by the TRW 250 Trophy.
This 1958 rear swing-arm model has been entered though Brightwells’ contacts at the Gwent Police Force. Seized by them and unable to trace its owner, they have entered it with clear title. There are no keys or paperwork with the machine although the registration number is still recognised by the DVLA so its new owner will be able to apply for a replacement V5 under their name in the usual way.
All we know about it is that it's registration number is non-transferable and that the bike is a non-runner so will require comprehensive recommissioning before use. It is offered at no reserve, so the highest bid takes it.
