Undoubtedly one of the best-loved British cars ever made, the venerable MGB has won fans all over the globe for 50 years now and, as survivors dwindle and modern cars get ever more bland and samey, it just gets more appealing with every passing year.
Radiating a carefree Swinging Sixties image, not only is the MGB fun to drive, it is also eminently capable of daily use and has a wonderful knack of bringing a smile to the face of everyone who sees one passing by. Get behind the wheel of an MGB today and not only will you bring out the best in other road users, you will also enjoy a little halo of self-content as you bask in the reflected glow of your tasteful choice of transport. Old enough to be interesting, but not so flash as to cause resentment, there really is no nicer way of getting from A to B.
This most eye-catching MkII Roadster really will get you noticed and looks particularly fetching in bright white with gleaming stainless steel sill covers, sporty mesh front grille, Mota-Lita steering wheel, big bore sports exhaust, Union Jack wing badge and chunky Minilite-style alloys (including the spare wheel).
Although there is precious little history with the car, it has clearly been well-restored at some point in the not-too-distant past and still looks great apart from some slight paint degradation on the boot lid which was obviously fitted with a luggage rack at one stage.
Recently treated to a brake overhaul with the calipers rebuilt at considerable expense by Bigg Red of Worcester, it has the desirable overdrive gearbox option, a good mohair hood, a battery cut-off switch and a Sony CD radio for in-car sounds. Said to drive as well as it looks with an MOT until January 2016, it looks like a lot of fun for a very modest outlay.
