One of the more important technological developments to have occurred in the world of agricultural was the introduction of the Ferguson TE20 in 1946.

A bold claim maybe, but Harry Ferguson’s stroke of genius came when he designed his new lightweight machine as a tractor and plough combined, increasing the efficiency of land preparation by such a margin, that farming was never the same again.

In production until 1956, over 500,000 were made in the UK plus a further 140,000 American-built Ford FO20 versions which also made good use of Harry Ferguson’s brilliant three-point hitch.

Towards the end of the model’s ten year lifespan, the company introduced a much needed four-cylinder diesel version. Relatively rare today, the TEF Diesel is highly prized amongst collectors, the unit being well suited to hard work, using very little fuel in the process.

According to the chassis plate, this TEF left the factory in 1954. Purchased by the vendor from a farm sale, it joined his lengthy restoration queue which is unfortunately where it has remained since. The vendor has had it running, although advises that it will require some restoration work before it can be put to good use once more.

Our first lot of the day, it is offered here at no reserve and will be sold to the highest bidder so make sure you are in the saleroom in good time for the 12 noon kick-off!

AMENDMENT; The vendor would like to point out that he has not had this running.
