The Victoria company of Nuremburg, Germany, was an established bicycle manufacturer who also made motorcycles from 1901 to 1966, initially using engines supplied by BMW.
Over the years the Victoria range diversified to include components supplied by other manufacturers, but this came to an end in 1934 when the new National Socialist government forbade the import of foreign engines. Post-war the restriction on the use of foreign engines was lifted and alongside their own offerings, Victoria also produced machines with Parilla engines and other Italian components.
One such machine was the Vicky range of mopeds and scooters that were marketed as the ViVi moped in Italy and as the MS50 in Sweden. Imports of the Vicky to the UK began in 1956, the Vicky III being powered by a 48cc two-stroke engine.
This very smart example has either led a remarkably sheltered life or been restored at some point in the past. Either way, its registration number is no longer recognised at the DVLA and there is no paperwork to accompany the machine.
