One of four T2 camper vans in our sale today, this lovely metallic green example has all the home comforts any traveller could wish for.

First registered in February 1972, it has been in the current ownership for 10 years and was professionally restored and re-fitted between 2010 and 2012 at a cost of over £16,000, the whole process being documented in many invoices, photos and notes in the history file.

This included a full body restoration with many new panels; new inner and outer sills; new door and window rubbers; new door locks; new stainless steel bumpers from VW Heritage; chrome on brass headlight trims; heated front and rear windscreens; new 15” alloy wheels shod with Yokohama tyres; new GRP cover on the Devon pop-up roof and a repaint in cream over light metallic green.

The interior was retrimmed and fitted out by marque specialists Bromsgrove Auto Trims with attractive light blue and white seat covers; new grey carpets piped in light blue; full-width ‘rock and roll’ bed; LED roof lights; extra sound-proofing and insulation; Dometic RF60 fridge; double ring burner and grill stove; Smew stainless steel sink with electric water pump; solid maple cabinets with walnut inlays; oil fired warm air heater; 240v mains power hook up with two 240v sockets and two 12v sockets; leisure battery; CD sound system with additional speakers plus numerous other nice touches.

It has also been thoroughly overhauled mechanically with many new parts including: rebuilt engine; new heat exchangers and control cables; new front and rear brake assemblies, including replacement hand brake cables, front brake callipers and master cylinder; new clutch; new exhaust system; Scat gear shifter; alternator conversion and an auto fire extinguishing system in the engine compartment. It also comes with a custom-made car cover and a stand-alone awning.

Needless to say the Camper is now in very good order throughout with an agreed insurance valuation of £19,000 and an MOT until the end of January 2017. To source and rebuild a VW T2 to this standard would cost considerably more than the guide price suggested today. Add in the fun you will have and the hotel bills you will save on weekends away and it becomes a bit of a no-brainer really…

Please note that the fuel guage is declared as not working and that you will find the horn is operated by pressing a button on the dash.
