History
The W107 series Mercedes was in production from 1971 to 1989, and while the cars are all visually similar, the engines vary considerably. By 1980 the V8 models had new light alloy engines in place of the heavy cast iron units of the previous cars. The 380SL replaced the old 350SL in 1980 and had a 3,818cc V8 unit producing 218 bhp allied to a four-speed automatic transmission. Top Speed was over 130mph and, to keep this in check, servo assisted disc brakes all round were standard.
This 1984 380SL car has been in the same ownership for the last 13 years. It has covered 105,000 miles in total and is said to be in good condition and to drive well. Sold with a full 12 months' MOT, it comes with an extensive service history, all its old MOTs back to 1994 and the original handbooks in a leather folder from the supplying dealer, Normand of London.
