Yamaha’s lightweight TY175 trials bike was a popular and competitive machine in the late 1970s.

The tough two-stroke single-cylinder engine had bags of low down torque thanks to Yamaha’s ‘Reed Valve Torque Induction’ technology and it drove through a six-speed box to ensure good performance in everything from the slowest, tightest sections to the faster, more open runs between sections.

The rear suspension was five-way adjustable, a chain tensioner automatically absorbed any slack in the chain for a more controlled ride and a sturdy aluminium sump guard protected the engine from rocks and prevented the bike from sinking too far in very muddy sections.

This smart TY175 is believed to date from around 1976 and has been up and running recently. There is no paperwork to accompany the machine which is offered at no reserve.
