|Description||Jaguar XK120 Replica|
|Engine size||4,200 cc|
This replica was begun in the late 1990s by the previous owner using moulds taken from a genuine XK120 which were later sold to Nostalgia Cars of Somerset, one of the foremost replica manufacturers in the country. The chassis is a replica XK120 unit made by Nostalgia and the bodywork is made of fibreglass. The current vendor acquired the car as a rolling chassis in 2000 and spent the next five years building it into the car you see today.
Key mechanical features of the car include: fuel-injected Jaguar 4.2-litre engine tuned by Jaguar specialists CFS Motors of Coventry; ZF 5-speed manual gearbox; Jaguar XJ6 independent front suspension and brakes; Jaguar E-Type rear axle, suspension and brakes; adjustable shock absorbers and springs; uprated front anti-roll bar; suspension fully set up by Nostalgia; electric fan; full stainless steel exhaust system.
The car has a new leather interior with Willans safety harnesses and a full set of wet weather gear, all brand new. There are bills on file for £6,500 from Nostalgia for trimming the car in 2005. All the external brightwork is new and is correct for the XK120.
As you would expect from such a lightweight machine, the car is said to be very fast with excellent handling and brakes. It has covered less than 1,000 miles since the build was completed and is still in outstanding condition throughout.
The car is registered as a 1960 Jaguar MkII 2.4 and is tax exempt and wears a nice dateless transferable number plate, 841 BGO. It has a current MOT and is being offered here at a fraction of the build cost.
