This lovely 1959 Moggie has been owned by the vendor for around 35 years. It saw a lot of use when first acquired, including a trip to the North Cape of Sweden many years ago and has been much loved by the family.
A genuine factory convertible, the development engineer owner rebuilt the car 12 years ago. He spent around £6,500 on parts, including refurbishing the engine, gearbox, brakes and suspension. He also fitted a new wiring loom, glass and a Newton Commercial leather trim kit and hood.
The bodywork was restored using the original panels as they weren’t in bad order to start with, the Morris factory panels being superior to the pattern parts available today, which is a bonus.
A check on its MOT history shows regular if modest use over the last 10 years, the car having covered just 2,000 miles since 2008. Its last test expired in 2015 which showed no advisories. It is of course MOT and tax exempt.
Fitted with a neat padlock security system which locks the clutch and brake pedals together, this delightful Convertible is very clean underneath and is ready to go and show.
