The six-cylinder Triumph 2500S was a pretty classy car in its day and not aimed at the everyman owner. The first owner of this car was a mine-owning plutocrat, and the second owner had a man to drive the car for him. Subsequent owners were more democratic – classic car enthusiasts.
Our vendor is the fifth owner and the man responsible for the car in the condition you see it today. He bought the Triumph in 2008 and subjected it to a fairly rigorous renovation scheme over an extended period, culminating in a body refurbishment in 2015 followed by a full re-spray. To help keep the car sound it has been undersealed and cavity-wax treated.
Along the way, the car has had electronic ignition, an electric cooling fan, a reconditioned heater, and a stainless steel exhaust system fitted. The automatic gearbox has also been completely reconditioned and a tow-bar fitted although the vendor tells us that it has never been used. Other work includes a complete brake overhaul, including the installation of copper pipework, and refurbishment of the steering system.
The speedometer shows an indicated 90,000 miles and the MOT history appears to back up this mileage. The vendor tells us that the car is in very good condition and has been well cared for throughout its life. It now has the added appeal of being tax- and MOT-exempt.
This big Triumph is an affordable cruiser with bags of smooth six-cylinder power from its torquey 2,500c.c. twin-carburettor engine. Ready for attendance at local classic car shows or extended tours, this is the car you’ve been looking for to pull you classic caravan, speedboat or historic racer. Travel in style!
AMENDMENT; Bidders are advised that this car now has a fresh MOT until the end of November 2019.
