According to the vendor, this 1973 TR6 is still in the midst of a rather protracted restoration. We are advised that it received a new Heritage body-shell back in the mid -‘90s when it was repainted red from its original white livery.
The car was put back on the road, since when it has seen sporadic use since the millennium, the vendor admitting that the car is still an on-going project, estimating it to be 95% completed.
The car’s current mileage reads 79,416 miles and MOT certificates suggest that the car has only covered 367 miles in the last ten years. The car was last tested in 2015 when it passed with no advisories.
We believe that the engine has been replaced at some point and are advised that it has received some significant attention recently. The vendor has a large file which contains information on the work and attention that the car has received, although unfortunately, this was not available at the time of writing, but will be present for potential bidders to view at the auction
As it stands, UYP 702M is in presentable condition, yet still has some minor cosmetic jobs still to be done. The car has covered only 138 miles since its last MOT although it is now both tax- and MOT exempt.
New heritage shells are no longer available (and cost in excess of £20,000 when they were), so this TR6 represents an opportunity for the enthusiast to buy a sound car to use and improve, which is on the road at a huge discount over the cost of the components involved.
