This eye-catching XJS V12 dates from 1992 and spent its first 14 years in Japan, returning to these shores in 2006.
As is often the case with Japanese market cars, there is no service history but the car was showing 49,892 kms on entry to the UK and still only shows 70,847 kms today (44,022 miles) which is believed to be correct. The eagle-eyed will have noticed that this XJS looks a little more sporty than usual thanks to the enormous BBS wheels and the front spoiler and side skirts.
These were added by the first UK owners who also installed a Getrag five-speed manual gearbox along with a race-lightened E-Type flywheel and AP Racing clutch. Continuing the upgrades, Bilstein shock absorbers were fitted along with uprated springs front and rear, Very Large (forgive the technical jargon) vented disc brakes and AP Racing six-pot calipers were fitted to the front of the car and a ventilated disc conversion at the rear.
Even in standard form the XJS is not the most self-effacing of motor cars but the British Racing Green paintwork keeps this car just the right side of OTT. Our vendor – only the second UK owner – bought the car from its builder in 2008, seeing the XJS as a fitting bridge between his Jaguar road car passion and his Jaguar race-car interests. However, pressure of work has given him little time to enjoy the car and so it is looking for a new home.
This uprated V12 Coupe comes with V5C, Japanese export documents, MOT to March 2019 (minor advisories), 12 past MOTs and some service invoices.
