Here we have a most unusual, yet curiously interesting 1992 VW Taro pick-up.
Featuring a 1.8-litre petrol four-cylinder engine with manual gearbox, the Taro has had just four owners (the last two from the same organisation/ family) from new and covered just 90,000 miles.
Unlike most pick-ups, certainly of this age, its not been used, abused and beaten, but is in very good order throughout. The longevity should come as no surprise given its under-pinnings come from the apparently (according to BBC’s old Top Gear) indestructible 5th generation Toyota Hi-Lux.
With a one-tonne payload, the truck offers great versatility and has a good history with service book showing three stamps until 1994 at 38,892 miles, numerous old MOTs on file along with V5C, manuals, a few invoices, VOSA MOT history and current MOT running until November 2019 with just one minor advisory recorded for slightly inefficient reflector within the offside headlight.
Pickups have a generic appeal, and older, well cared-for examples are few and far between.
