This early MGB GT has a lot going for it: British racing Green paintwork, wire wheels, aluminium bonnet, Webasto-style sunroof, Motolita steering wheel and overdrive gearbox. It also has a very reasonable estimate.
ACY 71D spent some time off the road following the death of its owner, but the car passed to two family friends – and classic car enthusiasts – who have done a very tidy job of recomissioning the car.
The pair overhauled the braking system, fitting new brake calipers, pads, wheel cylinders, brake pipes and hoses. They also fitted a new exhaust pipe and gave the car a thorough fettling to have it up and running smoothly. The car is expected to have an MOT in time for the sale and its V5C shows just four recorded keepers.
This is a good running MGB GT with a very attractive estimate. It is in need of further work here and there to make it really smart but it is ready to use and would make an ideal ‘running restoration’
Early GTs are now highly sought after, the pre-BL models being better built with high quality materials. It’s rather a case of grabbing one while you can.
AMENDMENT; Please note the vendor has not managed to get a fresh MOT as catalogued
