We all know what the Capri is about, so let’s not waste time repeating ourselves.
This little cracker shows just 35,000 miles, believed genuine and was supplied new by the Ford dealer in Malvern in November 1982 to a Mrs Hartnett of Ledbury. She kept this charmingly basic and original Champagne colour MkIII 1.6 L for some 37 years until our vendor purchased it from her and became only its second owner.
The original purchase invoice on file shows the car to have been supplied as a basic model with the option of metallic paint. She chose grey cloth interior trim, rustproofing and of course had to buy number plates. The rust proofing must have done the trick because the car looks to be in sound order throughout, surely a rarity.
Our vendor has had the car fully serviced at 35,258 miles in June 2019 including a timing belt, water pump and new exhaust manifold. Its MOT runs until March 2020 showing just one minor advisory for play in the nearside inner steering rack joints.
The history file includes the V5C, aforementioned current MOT and original service book showing four stamps along with its original hand books and wallet.
Gloriously unadulterated and lovable as a result, this is surely one for the Ford collectors out there.
