History
As its original buff log book confirms, this 88-inch chassis Land-Rover Series 1 was first registered on 8th October 1956 to Henry Ambrose Clive of Mynde Park, Hereford. The five subsequent keepers all lived in the Herefordshire and Cotswold region and the vehicle still retains its original Hereford plates.
In 2003-2004 the vehicle was subject to a full body-off restoration, extensively photographed, which included a full chassis, engine and axles rebuild; new clutch; new canvas hood; new plexiglass windows; interior retrim and the fitment of a desirable Fairy overdrive. The parts alone cost over ?3,500.
Still said to be in excellent condition today and to drive very well, it represents a rare opportunity to acquire a much loved vehicle with a known history at a very reasonable guide price.
