NVT ( Norton Villiers Triumph) was formed by the British government after the BSA Group which had owned the Triumph name since 1951 found itself in trouble around 1972.
The merged company was formed in 1973 with Manganese Bronze Holdings exchanging the Norton Villiers part of it's group in exchange for the non-motorcycling side of the BSA Group. The new conglomerate was now known as Norton Villiers Triumph, the new group basically forming the consolidation of motorcycle manufacture in the UK. Various small motorcycles were added to the range including the NVT Rambler which later became the BSA Rambler and the NVT Easy Rider moped.
The machine offered here is a ‘T’ registration NVT Easy Rider moped registered in late 1978 or 1979, but no documents are in evidence to give a definite date. The bike looks in good unrestored order and would be well worth spending the time registering and re-commissioning, this being a rare survivor in seemingly good order.
