The VF400FD made its appearance in 1983 sporting a number of highly innovative features for a machine in the 400cc sports class.
Its race-bred 46bhp NC13 V4 engine was narrow enough to fit snugly down into the frame which gave the bike a particularly low centre of gravity and seat height. The engine was red-lined at 12,500 rpm, which was more GP bike than commuter, although its torque curve provided enough low-end grunt to make them nice and reliable; and because it was made by Honda, it proved more than capable of high mileages.
This 1984 bike is on offer from a deceased estate and was purchased in 2013. It has a V5 on file and was last MOTd in November 2011 so will no doubt require some light recommissioning before use.
