The Victoria company of Nuremburg, Germany, was an established bicycle manufacturer who also made motorcycles from 1901 to 1966, initially using engines supplied by BMW.
Over the years the Victoria range diversified to include components supplied by other manufacturers, but this came to an end in 1934 when the new National Socialist government forbade the import of foreign engines. Post-war the restriction on the use of foreign engines was lifted and alongside their own offerings, Victoria also produced machines with Parilla engines and other Italian components.
One such machine was the Vicky range of mopeds and scooters that were marketed as the ViVi moped in Italy and as the MS50 in Sweden. Imports of the Vicky to the UK began in 1956, the Vicky III being powered by a 48cc two-stroke engine
The Victoria Vicky scooter here carries a registration issued in 1957, but a search of the DVLA database shows that it is not currently recorded, and no documents are on file, although a dating letter from the appropriate authority and an application to DVLA should see new registration papers issued without too much difficulty. One of the more unusual small scooters, it appears to be in sound condition and an ideal candidate for restoration.
