Introduced in June 1966, the P50 was the last motor-wheel design from Honda and probably any other large scale manufacturer.

Following the earlier motor-wheel designs that hark back to the earlier part of the 20th century with the likes of the Wall auto-wheel and the subsequent 1950's boom of the cyclemaster and winged wheel, Honda brought the design bang up to date.

The new Honda machine featured a step-through frame and a 1.2bhp 49cc four-stroke engine enclosed within the rear wheel of a pressed-steel frame featuring leading link suspension. All up weight was a mere 99lbs (dry weight) due in part to the use of plastics for items such as the mudguards. Only in production from 1966 to 1968, this well made little machine is one of the quirkier designs to emanate from Honda.

First registered in September 1967, the P50 on sale today comes with an original RF60 green cardboard logbook which shows 3 owners to 1974. The original registration YJH 24F is not recorded with the DVLA, but with the support of the original document and a dating letter from the relevant club a V765 application should allow it to be issued with a V5C. An original, unrestored machine it would be a cheap entry to the vintage motorcycle scene as it is now approaching 50 years of age.
