The battle of the supersaloon was fought out in the mid 1990's by the V8 E55 AMG and Jaguar's V8 XJR (which we have in the sale too), both with similar power and performance.  Known affectionately as "the sledgehammer" it was, and still is a real power-house today, with many of Mercedes recent AMG products using the basic 5.4 V8 engine used in this car. 

Boasting 5.4 litres of naturally aspirated V8, it developed 354bhp in stock form, although almost 400bhp is easily attainable with a simple remap, it ran onto its limited top speed of 155mph with aplomb and absolute ease.

This example was subject to Mercedes Designo bespoke specficiation facility, finished in purple with complimenting two tone purple and black nappa leather interior with dark wood trim.  Fully loaded in Avantgarde spec with heated electric memory seats, rear head rest drop facility, head lamp washers, ESP traction and stability control, electric windows, mirrors, automatic digital climate control system and colour coded leather steering wheel. 

Also fitted are the 17inch staggered AMG alloy wheels and the full AMG suspension and brake set up, plus twin exit exhaust to allow the discreet V8 bellow out.
