DJ Sports Cars International built the first DAX Rush in 1991 in collaboration with German company Mohr, on whose highly regarded Lotus Super Seven replica the DAX was based.
A lightweight two-seater sports car, it used a multi-tube triangulated steel space-frame chassis, front engine and a choice of either four-wheel or rear-wheel drive. The body was constructed of GRP with optional aluminium side panels and bonnet with a choice of De Dion or IRS suspension at the rear. Many other options were also available depending on the customer’s requirements and it is fair to say that no two cars are exactly alike. All were SVA approved and all were wickedly fast.
This particular DAX Rush was partially built by DJ Sports Cars themselves with the vendor also doing some of the work and has only covered around 5,000 miles since the build was completed in 2001. The exact specification is too detailed to list in full here but is amply documented in the history file.
