This 1928 Riley Wentworth Coupe is believed by the owner to be the only surviving example of the model. It is powered by an 11.9hp sidevalve engine which is said to have been fully balanced at the bottom end and fitted with a special crankshaft.

The car was first registered in April 1928 to George Barker of Ealing, West London. Entering the current ownership in 2001, the car was previously looked after by William Warne who owned it from 1962 until 2000 – 38 years. The intervening owner was Clive Rides who drove it from Devon to Wales to enter the Welsh Trial in 2000.

Work to the car in the current ownership includes a recored radiator in 2002; retrimmed roof and lining in 2003; refurbishment of the interior woodwork in 2003; two new tyres and four new inner tubes in 2004; front brake overhaul and new rear brake linings, bearings and shoe springs in 2007; a new 72-ampere battery and new brass wheelnuts and centres all round in the same year.

Taxed and MOTd until October 2008, the car is said to have proved a very reliable companion that is regularly used throughout the year, and has attended Riley Coventry for the last four years.

Said to be in good condition throughout, it comes with a large folder full of history and literature and a quantity of spares which include a reconditioned engine block, lined with new studs; a spare half-shaft and a spare magneto.
